Practical Herbalism: Kidney & Urinary Tract Care

THIS HANDS-ON SERIES GETS YOU IN THE KITCHEN CRAFTING, BLENDING, FORMULATING, AND MAKING MEDICINE WITH HERBS!

This class is part of our Practical Herbalism Series.

In this class we’ll explore herbal care for the kidney and urinary tract:

  • Degenerative kidney disease

  • Cystitis and inflammation of the kidneys and urinary tract

  • Urinary frequency & incontinence; bedwetting

  • Urinary tract infections

You will learn how to make herbal tinctures (alcohol extractions) and you’ll make a tincture to take home.

Herbs you’ll meet: Juniper, Nettle, Uva Ursi, Processed Rehmannia, Cordyceps, Goldenrod, Corn Silk, Sumac, Hibiscus

**This class has been moved online. It’s not ideal, but we’ll make the best of it! When you register, you will give me your address, and class materials will be mailed to you by Thursday 3/26, unless of course you register after Thursday, in which case they’ll be mailed on Monday*

WE WILL GATHER FOR A LIVE CLASS VIA ZOOM ON MONDAY, MARCH 30TH AT 7:00PM.

You will also receive:

  • A detailed PDF handout

  • Recipe for the tincture

  • Materials to make the tincture (except alcohol, which I cannot legally mail)

  • Samples to taste at home: Juniper berries, Nettle, Goldenrod, Corn Silk

    Class handouts and a link to join the live class will be emailed to you on Monday morning. The live class will be recorded and sent to all who registered, so if you’re not able to attend live, you can watch the class.

    Pre-registration is required. Please register at least 8 hrs in advance.

The class is part of the Practical Herbalism series.

Classes are held on Monday evenings from 7-9pm, March - mid May.

You don’t have to take all the classes in the series — you can take just one, or as many as you wish.

CLASS LOCATION

These classes are held in the kitchen of The Farm Cooking School. To get to the school, wind your way all the way up to the top of the property, following signs for "The Farm Cooking School." Park in the lot beside the building and enter through the white door with the ramp.

Depending on the weather and time of year, classes involve time in the Apothecary Garden, located near the school.

If you sign up within fewer than 8 hours of the start of the class, please text or call Amanda to confirm. If you cancel fewer than 8 hours before the start of the class, or simply do not attend the class, we cannot refund your class payment.
