You’re already making tinctures in your home kitchen, but now you’re curious to know more. You wonder which herbs are best extracted by different solvents, and what the chemical makeup of herbs really means.
In this class, you will learn:
The six main types of phytochemicals
How these phytochemicals serve plants & how they interact with human physiology
Ideal solvents for each type of phytochemical
Working with alcohol, vinegar, water, and oil — when each is most effective
Tincture math — how to calculate alcohol percentages for your formulations.
You will make an alcohol extract to take home. And yes, you’ll have to use math to do it.
This class will be geared for those who are already familiar with herbal tinctures.

CLASS LOCATION
These classes are held in the kitchen of The Farm Cooking School. To get to the school, wind your way all the way up to the top of the property, following signs for "The Farm Cooking School." Park in the lot beside the building and enter through the white door with the ramp.
Depending on the weather and time of year, classes involve time in the Apothecary Garden, located near the school.
