This hands-on series gets you in the kitchen and out in the garden: harvesting, identifying, smelling, tasting, and making magic with herbs!

In this class we explore the power of herbal alteratives, herbs that encourage gradual change in the body by supporting eliminatory function, often working on the major eliminatory organs.

Why are we starting with alteratives? Because alteratives highlight one of the great strengths of herbalism: bringing the body back into balance by restoring natural function.

Also because many superstar herbal alteratives flourish in the spring!

We will explore:

• 5 superstar herbal alteratives

• how these herbs support elimination & interact with major organs

• what the term “blood purifier” really means

• why herbal infusions are such a powerful, yet underutilized, herbal remedy

This class is offered on a sliding scale: $35-$45.

CLASS LOCATION

These classes are held in the kitchen of The Farm Cooking School. To get to the school, wind your way all the way up to the top of the property, following signs for "The Farm Cooking School." Park in the lot beside the building and enter through the white door with the ramp.

Depending on the weather and time of year, classes involve time in the Apothecary Garden, located near the school.
